| The Team Label model is our premium, high performance flagship. Dan spent the better part of a year working very closely with team riders on the R&D, tuning in the subtleties of the design before offering it off of the rack. The performance goal for this board was to make a board that both power surfers and air guys would favor, so feedback from riders with very different styles were all taken into account, in an effort to reach a convergent end-point.A lot of the design, such as the bottom profile and deck contour are taken directly from the Automatic. The biggest breakthrough has been the new “magic” rocker template. The outline between the feet has been smoothed out to a continuous curve, and the bottom rail edge has been slightly softened in this area as well. Importantly, the volumetric center of balance and the rocker “sweet spot” are married in the design, so the transition between gaining down the line speed and turning is effortless and does not require a lot of foot repositioning from the surfer. Although it can be ordered with standard glassing (Double 4oz deck, single 4oz bottom), the pros feel that making it light is an important part of the overall design. We have accomplished this by glassing the Team Labels with a single layer of premium S-glass on both sides. A carbon strip along the stringer on the bottom dramatically helps to prevent board snapping, and the carbon tail rail patches help to prevent tail cancer. The light glass job tends to pressure dent easier than a double layered glass job, but the carbon helps to save the areas that would otherwise kill the board. The "Team Label" glass job comes standard off the rack directly from the pros to you. The performance and versatility of the Team Label has made it our go-to design for the team, from gutless summertime California to winter surf in Hawaii. |
